Music Video: Inna - Wow

Romanian pop sensation, Inna debuts a new video today called, 'Wow' where she takes on a variety of fantasy stories such as, 'Snow white', 'The Wizard Of Oz', and 'Alice in Wonderland'.

Music Video: Rihanna - Where Have You Been

'Where Have You Been', starts off with Rihanna rising from the deeps like some sort of dark primordial Goddess and then from their on out tons of well choreographed dance scene in different jungle settings, ensues.

I must say I totally love the tribal voodoo like vibe this video gives and I'm also glad that she has stuck to her guns and kept the video eerie and mysterious like much of her former videos.

P.S. Damn dis girl can dance! I hope she does it more often!

Old But Gold: Janet Jackson - Velvet Rope (1997)

Before, Rihanna had red hair and was talking about the her sexual liberation via, Sadomasochism, there was Janet Jackson.

In the year of 1997 Janet released her moody and emotional album, 'The Velvet Rope' and I remember hearing her magical track, 'The Velvet Rope' and instantly falling in love with the violin, which was performed by British violinist, Vanessa-Mae. At the time I was way to young to understand the meaning of the song but I just remember falling in love with the whole aura of the song.

'The Velvet Rope' was all about Janet's need to feel special, whence her stating "We all wanna feel special" at the start of the song. Apparently she was going through a dark phase of depression and she made the song and album based off of her mental state at the moment. Anyway check out this unofficial fan made video below.

New Music: D.Woods - 2 The Bottom

A new, D.Woods, song just popped up from no where a few days ago and I assume the new song titled, '2 The Bottom' will be on an upcoming mixtape, which is always welcomed especially if its free. Anyway check out the former Danity Kane members latest offerings below.

Artist Promo: New STORi Music Video, 'Stori Time"

Artist Promo: Bobby Washington - Back It Up

Bobby Washington is Island Def Jams latest signed artist and 'Back It Up' is his first single, which is available on iTunes.

Music Video: Alyssa Reid - Talk Me Down

This song and video has a great message and it reminds me that I need to be kinder when on the web because its so easy to vent when your behind a computer screen and you don't have to see the reactions or deal with the repercussions of others.

Music Video: QOH (Queen Of Hearts) - Blanket

(Left To Right: Sasha, Alessandra, and Nikole)
(Pic Source)

OMG! A Canadian girl group! Finally!
QOH (Queen Of Hearts) is a Toronto, Ontario based R&B/Pop girl group, which consist of three members named, Alessandra, Sasha and Nikole. You can check out their debut video, 'Blanket' below and stop by their website to see more from this trio of lovely ladies.

Music Video: A-Game - Cool Boys

WTF there's two guys? I thought A-Game was one guy! Oh well shows how much I know... I do know their Canadian if that counts for anything.

Music Video: Duncan - Light Up The Sky

Music Video: Jr. Gong' Marley - Set Up Shop

Music Video: Eva Simons - I Don't Like You

Dutch singer, Eva Simons and her two besties go to her ex's house and trash it when he's away in her new video, 'I Don't Like You', which I presume is the first single from her forthcoming debut album, 'Eva-lution'.

Can I just say that I'm totally feelin' this song especially that dub-step drop part! Insane!

Music Video: Nicki Minaj - Starships

Rocket off with crazy lady, Nicki Minaj, as you cruise through her techno coloured world in her latest video, 'Starships'.

Music Video: Melody Thornton ft. Bobby Newberry - Bulletproof

I never fancied the, La Roux group very much and I was never fond of their hit track, 'Bulletproof', so I was surprised that I actually enjoyed, Melody Thorton & Bobby Newberry's cover, which appears on her new mixtape, 'P.O.Y.B.L'.

You  can check out the mini video, which is one of those video montages that display her rehearsals and live footage!

P.S. Her dog is so adorable I just want to grab and hug it!

New Music: Usher - Scream

'Scream' makes me scream out in frustration when I hear it because its sounds like something, Usher has already created! I can already tell that this song will be played every second of the day just like, 'DJ Got Us Falling In Love" and 'More', which all have a similar sound to his latest offering. I can bet this is a RedOne produced track because its sound like something he'd make and all the track is missing is a cheesy and lackluster, Pitbull verse before it sounds like half the other dance tracks on the radio.

'Scream' will appear on Usher's soon to be released new album, ' Looking for Myself' (June 12 2012)

New Music: Brandy ft. Chris Brown - Put It Down

Brandy jumps up on a  hot Bangladesh produced track for her latest single, 'Put It Down',which features singer turned rapper, Chris Brown.

The song will appear on her forthcoming album, 'Two Eleven' and the track doesn't seem like a song that Brandy would make but that's because we've all come to be so accustomed to her ballads, which I prefer.

To be honest and as real as I can be I'd have to say that this song is all right but its definitely nothing to gush over. On the plus side Brandy has some brilliant harmonizing during the chorus.

Music Video: Jill Scott - Blessed

Damn! I wished I was blessed with something because Jill got me envious with all her super positive grateful attitude in this video.

Music Video: Melanie Fiona - Watch Me Work

This video is a  mess and I could honestly end this post with that one description but I won't. Yes I know the video is empowering to women and all but the video is way to busy and the least the director could have done was mute the audio from the movie scenes that appear in the video so people could actually hear the song the video is for.

New Music: Kreesha Turner - Love Again

The very talented, Kreesha Turner, recently appeared on the cover of Canadian magazine, Sway and after reading the article on her I remember thinking "when is she going to release some new music" and like that! A new track from her called "Love Again" was playing on the radio today.

"Love Again" is an uplifting fun dance track that makes me think of hot summer nights and fun and its a perfect choice for her third single from her sophomore album, Tropic Electric (November 15th 2011).

French version below!

Kreesha has also finished taping the video for, "Love Again" in Montreal so we can expect to see a video any day now.

New Music: Aubrey O'Day - Wrecking Ball

Aubrey O'Day is finally releasing more material after her two well received 2011 dance tracks, "Automatic" and "Hitchhiker". Her latest offering is a slower-paced pop ballad called, "Wrecking Ball" and it doesn't seem like a track Aubrey would make. Listen below!

Yes the track displays her very vast vocal range but to be honest I prefer my pop stars like her to stick to making vapid pop club tracks that make you want to move in a raunchy manner.

I kind of put Aubrey in the same category as Britney Spears (Aubrey's way more talented) and I have no interest in llistening to one of Britney's so-called emotional tracks either. Please stick to hot dance tracks, Aubrey and if you must make these pop ballads then don't make them singles.

New Music: Monica - Without You

I haven't heard any songs (excluding "It All Belongs To Me") on Monica's new album, New Life (April 6th 2012) and I was curious to hear some because I completely forgot about the albums release.

So I saw that a bunch of blogs had her next official singles artwork up so I went to YouTube and checked out the track, which is called, "Without You".

Lets just say I had shivers after hearing just the first few seconds of the Polo Da Don produced track. "Without You" is a truly beautiful song and you just can't help but feel like your floating while you hum along to this track.

Music Video: Lana Del Rey - Carmen

Lana Del Rey's depressing ode to a young and reckless girl named, Carmen has now gotten the video treatment , which you can check out below.

Very artsy video and I must say I'm liking Lana more and more each day and I truly regret not introducing myself to her stellar music earlier.

New Music: M.I.A ft. Wiley - Bad Girls Remix

Pioneer of the U.K. Grime movement, Wiley has teamed up and remixed M.I.A's smash track, "Bad Girls".

The remix is intense and my only complaint is M.I.A's mantra of "Live fast! Die Young! Bad girls do it well!" was left out but other then that this remix is blazing.

Music Video and RANT: Chester French - Black Girls

While Black R&B singers and Rappers (see Gucci Mane's "In Love With a White Girl" and yes I know its about cocaine but does the rest of society?) trade in their former black leading ladies and video vixens for Kim Kardashian look a likes and other random non-black looking women its nice to see, Indie rock duo, Chester French pay homage to the beauty of Black women in their video, "Black Girls". Did I forget to mention that this band consist of two white guys?

Lets face it when's the last time you've seen an actual Black looking leading lady in a music video? Well its not something you see to often now days and yes one could say these video vixen were degrading a whole race of women but think about it! These leading ladies and video vixens may not be good role models but at the same time it was a way for the sexuality and beauty of Black women to be showcased and was a way for them to be desired.

Now days you'll be hard pressed to find a video vixen who is an actual full black women and not mixed with something. I'm not saying not to use other races of video vixens but at least make sure you use a few actual black looking women once in awhile.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised though! Black people have been the leading force in destroying themselves (especially African Americans) with self hate and if you don't believe me please take a listen to Nicki Minaj's boyfriends single HERE or even one of Nicki's many songs where she attacks so-called "nappy headed hoes" (listen to her song "Did It On Em"). These are perfect example of self hate.

Its sad and amazing that non-Black men had to point out the beauty of a race of women that is being ignored and forgotten by its own. So to Chester French I say "Thank You for reminding the world that Black Women are desirable and are beautiful".

Music Video: Kevin Cossom - Overflow

Singer/Song writer, Kevin Cossom recently released a mixtape called, Hook vs. Bridge and to promote that mixtape he has also made a visual to accompany his track, "Overflow".

Check out the summer loving, love song and video below and if you haven't downloaded, Hook Vs. Bridge then click HERE for the post with the download link.

Music Video: Delilah - Breathe

I don't know much about Delilah but I can tell you that she's a very soulful and moody musician. The first time I came across her I fell in love with her laid back music and instantly wanted more. Check out her latest video, "Breathe", which if my research is correct will appear on her forthcoming album, From The Roots Up, which is scheduled for a summer release.

Music Video: Princess Nyah ft. Wiley - Soldier

I love the dub-step beat on this track

Artist Promo: Jhene Aiko ft. J.Mars - Stranger Revisited

Rapper J.Mars has joined forces with, Jhene Aiko on the remix to her moody track, "Stranger", which is now titled, "Stranger Revisited".

J.Mars verse fits in so well with this song that one would think this was the original version and not a remix so my hat goes off to him because I really enjoyed this.

Music Video: Belly ft. Snoop Dogg - I Drink I smoke

Music Video: Scissor Sisters - Only The Horses

Music Video: Emeli Sande - My Kind Of Love

New British sensation, Emeli Sande has been getting tons of attention from certain bloggers and I see why. She is a very powerful singer and highly demanded song writer and if you need evidence of this then watch her music video, "My Kind Of Love" from her debut album, Our Version Of Events (February 13, 2012).

Music Video: Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans

I usually tend to avoid musicians who've garnered so much sudden media buzz overnight because it just seems so pretensions.

I remember Lana (A new artist at the time) appeared on the highly coveted, SNL (Saturday Night Live) and she was the talk of the town. After her so-called disastrous SNL performances her album, Born To Die (Jan 27 2012,) sold extremely well even though no radio air time and no major TV music videos, which all led to me believing that some high powered music exec was behind her success. I just didn't see all the hype behind her and I kind of just labeled her as a skinny version of Adele and then promptly forgot about her.

Until today I finally decided to press play on one of her videos and I instantly regretted not checking her out earlier. Lana may have popped up from no where and every blog may have tried to force her down your throat but maybe a force feeding isn't all that bad. All internet meme's aside she seems like a talented artist and I really enjoyed her melancholic song/video for her single, "Blue Jeans", which you can check out below.

New Music: K'naan - With God On Our Side

A new track has leaked today from Somali Canadian musician, K'naan, which you can check out below.

"With God On Our Side"
is one of those songs that makes you step back and take a look at society and analyze the message being conveyed.

At the end of the song K'naan says "If God's on you side then. Would you ever need war?" and that statement applies to every country but especially America. If any of you remember when Bush was in power of the U.S., he was constantly attempting to justify the war with Iraq and Afghanistan with religion and God.

New Music: DEV - 99 Red Balloons

Electronic rapper/singer, Dev remakes German band, Nena, 80's hit song, "99 Red Balloons" over and why she made it is a mystery to me. Maybe this song will appear on some sort of mixtape or something.

Whatever the case is its always nice to hear new music from any singer that I like but I will say I much rather prefer Nena's version and I like when Dev sticks to singing fast paced and high tempo songs.

Bonus: Check out the original version (1984) from German one hit wonders, Nena. I honestly like the German version more then the English version for some odd reason.

Music Video: JRDN - Top It All

Canadian R&B singer, JRDN, unleashes a new music video for his latest single, "Top It All" off of his hit album, IAMJRDN (November 9th 2010)

Music Video: Rebecca Stella - Give Me That O

I just got this video sent to me from a friend and I must say that this song is outstanding!

Music Video: R-Kelly - Share My Love

Music Video: Sabi ft. Wale - Where They Do That At

One of my new faves, Sabi, debuted her new music video for her hot, Wale assisted track, "Where They Do That At".

The song is super hot and Sabi is definitely one to watch for.

New Music: Timbaland ft. Attitude & Bran'Nu - Show Dat Bra

A new, Timbaland song called, "Show Dat Bra" featuring, Brandy AKA Bran'Nu and Attitude leaked today and you guys can check it out below.

The beat is hot and Brandy is a pretty good rapper but I not sure if I'll ever get use to her rapping since I'll always picture her as a powerful singer.

Anyway I'm guessing this track is a left over from one of Timbaland's , Shock Value albums because I got a feeling that this track won't be appearing on, Shock Value III (June 2012) but I could be wrong and trust me I am wrong a lot.

New Music: Kevin Cossom - Hook Vs. Bridge 2 Mixtape

(via RAp-Up.Com)

If I'm correct singer/song writer, Kevin Cossom is one of producer, Danja's pupils and close associates but like anything I say take it with a grain of salt because I'm only a blog and not MTV or anything. Anyway today he released a free I repeat FREE mixtape titled, Hook vs. Bridge 2 (the sequel to a previous EP) so download the 10 track EP and enjoy it because free music is always good.

You can stream the mixtape first before you download it just in case your not feelin' it.

Download, Hook vs. Bridge 2 HERE!

Music Video: Rita Ora - How We Do (Party)

"Live fast, die young, bad girls do it well" should be the motto for girls like Rita Ora! I just love her carefree attitude and her new video, "How We Do (Party)", looks like it was tons of fun to make but unfortunately the song isn't as fun as the video appears in my opinion.

"How We Do (Party)" isn't terrible its just kind of there to me and I much rather prefer her bullet biting rebel ways in her first video and much better song, "R.I.P", which I heard is a, Rihanna Rated R demo so you know that makes it hot!

New Music: Nas - Another Black Girl Lost

This song is real and the beat is the illest! I personally think every girl should check out Nas' new song "Another Black Girl Lost", which puts a more modern spin on his previous track "Black Girl Lost", which you can check out below.

The lyrics in the chorus sound exactly like something you'd see on the Maury Povich show or on some degenerates Twitter/Facebook page.

New Music: Nelly Furtado - Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)

When it comes to different and creative, Nelly Furtado is one of the the leaders of the pack and her latest single, "Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)", is a perfect example.

The song is very different from any of the other current song on the radio at the moment and you might have to give it a few listens to really get into it.

Wait till you get to the 2:59 point and the beat switches up and gets really frantic!

"Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)", will appear on Nelly's fourth English album, The Spirit Indestructible (June 19th)

New Music: Girlicious - Heartbreaker (Unreleased)

If you were disappointed that TV made girl group, Girlicious, disbanded then you'll be happy to hear this unreleased track called, "Heartbreaker". Or you might not be to happy because the song isn't that great to be honest and now we know why it never was officially released. Anyway the song is before their, Rebuilt album era so that means Tiffanie Anderson's vocals are all over the track.

New Music: Livvi Franc - Knock Yaself Out

Bajan singer/song writer, Livvi Franc has been around for quite some time and yet we have not seen an album from her or even a new single since the release of her hot tracks, "Now I'm that Bitch" and "Automatik".

Fans and admirers of hers will have to make do with leaked material such as this recently leaked party gem called, "Knock Yaself Out". Check it out below!

Bonus: Livvi Franc also Supposedly appeared on the demo version of Machine Gun Kelly's latest release "Warning Shot". Check out t he Livvi demo and the final version with Cassie on the track.

PS. Livvi sounds better in my opinion

Artist Promo: The Neighbourhood - Female Robbery + Sweater Weather

Los Angeles indie-rock band, The Neighborhood, will be releasing their first ever EP, I'm Sorry on May 7th and if you've never heard of them (like me) here's your chance to get familiar. Check out their two music video for their singles, "Female Robbery" and " Sweater Weather" below.

Music Video: Feist - Bittersweet Mermories

Feist's beautiful music video for her song, "Bittersweet Memories", nearly brought me to tears! I realized that I don't have much to document my bitter sweet memories except my memory that will deplete with age. I'll never be able to have or experience certain events and moments again.

I advise every one to invest in a camera and start documenting their lives and actually physically printing off or developing photos instead of this digital rubbish that sites like facebook try to sell you.

Music Video: Rebecca Ferguson - Glitter & Gold

I like Rebecca Ferguson and I have no clue why Canadian radio stations and TV Stations won't play any of her material while they continue to blast fellow Brit, Adeles music.

They both make soul music but one of them is completely overlooked while the other florishes internationally. I just don't get it! North America keeps accepting all the useless British crap like The Wanted and One Direction but then ignore better Brit acts like Alexandra Burke, Alesha Dixon, and Rebecca Ferguson.

Anyway rants aside check out Rebecca's soulful and classy music video, "Glitter & Gold" from her album, Heaven (Dec 5 2011).

Music Video: Emma Lee - Figure It Out

Music Video: Saukrates ft. OB O'Brien - Say I

Music Video: Norah Jones - Happy Pill

The video chronicles her journey with The Pussycat Dolls and life after the Dolls. Check it out below.

You can download her mixtape HERE

Music Video: Dru - She Can Ride

That girl she can ride... The bus! That's just what the leading lady in Dru's new video, "She Can Ride" does.

She pops and drops her cakes all over the TTC on her way to audition for one of Dru's video and that pretty much sums up the plot and concept.

PS. I love the fellow passengers reaction to her grinding and gyrating on the bus. I think if a girl did that on the bus I was taking I would get off at the next stop and wait for the next bus because their is way to much mad up (crazy) people in Toronto to risk staying on a bus with a dancing girl.

Music Video: Karina Pasian - It's Whatever

Singer/song writer, Karina Pasian's debuts her fun new video, "It's Whatever", from her digital EP, Trips To Venus, which was released on December 12 2011.

Monday, April 9, 2012

Music Video: Lauren Bennett - I Wish I Wish

I've looked everywhere for new lead Pussycat Doll, Lauren Bennett's new solo video/single, "I Wish I Wish" but this low quality video is all I could find.

Music Video: Goapele - Tears On My Pillow

So Soulful and emotional!

Music Video: Elle Varner - Refill

I never got a chance to post this video because VEVO kept telling me that the video was region restricted but now I can so if you haven't seen the creative video for, Elle Varner's, "Refill", then check it out now.

P.S. I love this song and that folksy violin sound in the beat!

Music Video: Laidback Luke ft. Wynter Gordon - Speak Up

DJ/producer, Laidback Luke teams up with the edgy and fresh, Wynter Gordon for a dance floor ready track and video called, "Speak Up".

Just For Laughs: Lana Del Rey As Donald Duck

I've got nothing against Lana Del Ray or her song, "Video Games" but this was to funny!

Rant: Katy Perry Can Cry Me A River!

A flamboyant and blue haired, Katy Perry recently stopped by for an interview with Teen Vogue we're she uttered this quote, which you can read below.

“I’m tired of being famous already! But I’m not tired of creating. Fame is, I think, just a disgusting by-product of what I do.”(source)

I try to make it clear that I'm not into celebs personal life but I just had to rant about the topic that her quote brought up with me and colleagues.

First things first if fame is so abhorrent and "disgusting" as she states then simply stop being famous and fade into obscurity. There are tons of other Pop tarts who are only so eager to snatch up and usurp her throne. You can still "create" as she puts it in her quote without all the glitz and glamor.

Katy seems like a really nice person from what I've seen but honestly I don't have any smpathy for her or any other ungrateful celebrity. She and other celebs get paid ridiculous amounts of money for singing while doctors who save lives make considerably less. So I think the loss of your privacy is a fare exchange for the millions you make.

Celebrities who complain about how hard it is to be famous need to get a grip and suck it up! We all have things we hate about our careers and jobs but not all of us can make the bad things go away with tons of cash or whatever our hearts desire.

I know Katy and all these others "Stars" love fame because without it how would she get free designer clothing, the best seats in the house, and all the other luxuries that are synonymous with fame. No, Katy, you don't think fame is "disgusting" you just think the dark side of fame is "disgusting" but everything in this world is a double edged sword, sweetie.

If she hates fame so much then give it to some one who'll really appreciate the blessing because at the end of the day when the rest of us slave at jobs that are truly disgusting she gets to fly around the world and retire whenever she wants because she loaded.

So please cry me a river!

Music Video: Raghav -On top Of the World

I actually thought this singer was Jay Sean (obviously before I watched the video) but then I overheard on the radio that it was a Canadian singer named, Raghav. Well my guess was kind of close since they're both Indian singers and they even kind of sounds the same.

Music Video: Nicki Minaj ft. 2 Chainz - Beez In The Trap

Check out Nicki Minaj's new caked out music video, "Beez In The Trap" with stripper booty galore!

Side Note: So I know I've been avoiding Nicki Minaj's new material in fear of running into her stupid and annoying alter ego, Roman but after checking out her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (April 3rd) I realized that her alter ego doesn't appear that much.

Out of the 22 tracks on the album I dislike about 5 so the album wasn't as horrible as I was predicting. Check out my faves below, which tend to lean more to the Pop/Euro Dance genre then they do hardcore Rap genre.

The second verse is the exact same verse from her Cassie collaboration, "Fuck You Silly"

Music Video: Drake ft. Rihanna - Take Care

This video is just beautiful and artistic. I especially love the scenes of Rihanna looking coyly over her shoulder and the close ups of those royal blue beta fish.

The video definitely helped me to appreciate the song more because to be honest my co-workers and I have become quite tired of the radio blasting this song every 5 minutes but after watching this magnificent video I have a renewed respect for the song.
